Conditions of Hire

  1. Hire

    1. A completed application form must be submitted to the Booking Secretary before confirmation of the required date can be made.

    2. Advance payment of £20.00 or the full hiring fee if it be less, myst be made to the Booking Secretary in respect of categories 1, 2, 3 and 6.  This amount is not refundable if the hiring is cancelled 2 months prior to the date of the function.  The full hire charge will be made if the cancellation is made within 3 weeks of the date of the function.

    3. No Discos shall be permitted, other than those organised by the Bromham Social Centre Committee.

    4. The hiring person or organisation shall be responsible for the proper and orderly use of the rooms hired, for the observance of any legal requirements governing the use of the rooms and for leaving the rooms in a clean and tidy condition.  They will be liable for any damage done to the rooms and their contents, or any breakage or less, which must be reported to the Secretary immediately after the letting.

    5. The Centre must be treated with proper and reasonable care and in particular nails, screws or similar things, tacks, drawing pins, or adhesive tape must NOT be used on any part of the structure of the building, and no structures shall be fixed to the floors.

    6. The right to refuse any application for hiring, or to refuse admission to any individual without assigning any reason, is reserved to the Committee or to the Secretary. provided that the Secretary shall report such action to the next meeting of the Management Committee.

    7. The Committee reserves the right to cancel any hiring or booking.

    8. The Committee shall not be responsible for any loss from, or damage to, any article brought into the Centre or any part thereof, or any car brought into the adjoining car park.

  2. Intoxicating Liquor
    If bar facilities are required, a minimum of 6 weeks notice will be required to allow the appropriate legal requirements. In the case of alcoholic liquors being given free, consent must be given by the Committee before it is permitted.

  3. Betting, Gaming and Lotteries, Musical Copyright
    Nothing shall be done on or in relation to the premises in contravention of the law.

  4. Gramophone Records, Music, Singing and Dancing
    The Centre is licensed for the public use of gramophone records, music, singing, dancing and other public entertainment of the like kind.  Details of the permitted hours may be obtained from the Secretary.

  5. Stage Plays
    The Secretary must be given at least 4 weeks notice of a stage play production, so that any legal requirements can be obtained.

  6. Car Parking
    Cars must be parked on the area provided, and a clear entry to and exit from the Centre must be maintained at all times.

  7. Nuisances

    1. Litter shall not be left in or about the Centre.

    2. Dogs, other than Guide Dogs, shall not be brought into the Centre.

  8. Safety Regulations
    All conditions attaching to the granting of Licences must be strictly observed. Nothing shall be done which will jeopardise the Policies of Insurance relating to the Centre or its contents and in particular:

    1. No obstruction must be placed in gangways or exists.

    2. Fire appliances must be kept in their proper places and used for no other purpose.
