The Social Centre comprises a large hall with stage, fully equipped kitchen which is provided free of charge when the hall is booked, and 2 small committee rooms. Seating capacity is for 200, chairs and tables are available. Also available is a screen for the showing of films etc, and PA microphones. The toilet is equipped with baby changing facilities, and there is a disabled toilet. The premises comply with current fire regulations.
Attached to the Centre is The Owl, which can provide bar facilities during licensing hours, and can be made available when hiring the hall. A non returnable charge of £10 should be added to the deposit for this facility.

Committee rooms 1 & 2 are charged at £6.00 per hour – minimum charge is 2 hours.
Should you wish to make a booking, please complete a booking form and return it to us with a deposit of £25, (£35 if the bar is required). Please note that the person making the booking must be present during the event and is responsible for the proper use of the rooms booked.
Bookings made within a month of use will be subject to the full payment. All bookings will be subject to payment prior to use, apart from regular block bookings.
Cancellation charges are as follows:
- Up to two months before use: no charge
- 8 weeks – 4 weeks: loss of deposit
- Less than 4 weeks: full amount
Damage and breakages
We appreciate that accidents can happen. Any damage to the fabric of the hall or breakages of crockery, should be notified to the chairman. Pete Davis (01380 850792) or Malcolm Turner (01380 850204) who will arrange for an assessment of the damage to be made and will notify you of costs.
In order to comply with our licensing agreement, all alcohol consumed on the premises must be purchased from The Owl. Should you require more information about this please contact The Owl on 01380 850671.
The Social Centre Committee reserves the right to cancel any booking or to refuse admission to any individual.
